Welcome to "the antique shop", as we affectionately call our store.
Our shop opened five years ago and was designated "On The Square Antiques" because we are, literally, located on the town square in Troy, Alabama, home of Troy University. This year we have changed our name to "Troy Antiques", but we are still known as "the antique shop" to the locals. "The antique shop" combines the best of many people. Our antique dealers epitomize variety--there is everything in this shop! We stock Victorian, primitive, mid-century modern, and painted distressed furniture, glassware, pottery, linens, children's apparel, and so much more.
Housed originally in the "Gellerstedt" building, we moved in January 2007 to our permanent home, the "Brantley Brothers building". Our current building was constructed around the turn of the century (yes, 1900) and today has the original stain glass panel in the front facade that proclaims, "Brantley Bros Mercantile Co.". The interior of our shop has wonderful character--a steel reinforced walk-in vault (possibly used to store firearms and ammunition), two floors, the original mahogany panels in the ceiling, and a wonderful mezzanine! And for those of you who aren't familiar with a mezzanine, it is considered a "half-floor" or balcony above the first floor.
The shop features almost everything imaginable--fine glassware, pottery, Victorian furniture, primitives, re-designed/re purposed furniture, Bryer model horses, vintage books, retro and mid century modern collectibles, original artwork, and many other items.
Stop by to visit us often. We are located in Troy, Alabama about an hour south of Montgomery, Alabama and an hour north of Dothan, Alabama. We are a short 3.5 hour drive from Atlanta--the trip is fun and our prices can't be beat!
